Catalog of Utility or Energy Efficiency Agency Sponsored Studies
Author: KEMA on behalf of the Northwest Power and Conservation Council and NEEP's Regional EM&V Forum
Published: September 1, 2009
In September 2009, the Northwest Power and Conservation Council and the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships Regional EM&V Forum contracted with KEMA to conduct a search for available efficiency measures and/or end-use load data for typical efficiency measures and/or electrical loads. The resulting report and spreadsheet catalog more than 100 local, state and regional datasets.
The spreadsheet contains two tabs including:
1) Catalog of All Studies - Here, studies are classified based on the general purpose of the study and type of data collected, as follows:
- Compilation Study (Compilation) - Studies that compiled primary interval data from other studies and used either DOE2 modeling or statistical modeling techniques to produce average load shapes.
- Load Research Studies (LRS) - Studies that utilized long term end use power metering to develop average end use load shapes. The samples were typically selected to define end uses at rate class level, with little or no customer specific data collected other than interval data.
- Evalution Studies (Evaluation) - Studies that primarily focused on evaluating savings impacts for energy efficieny measures or demand response programs. These studies were typically characterized by shorter term monitoring that only collected data related to specific program measures and participants. Many programs have had evaluations conducted over multiple program years; these are noted in the catalog.
2) Catalog by End-Use - This tab breaks down the catalog by end-use, so that users may sort by the end-use of interest to locate applicable studies.
