CEEP Profile Series | Schools Programs | Johnson City Power Board and the Tennessee Valley Authority
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has contracted with the Alliance to Save Energy to implement a pilot of "Green Schools," a turnkey program for K-12 classrooms. 16 of TVA's power distributors, including the Johnson City Power Board (JCPB) in Tennessee currently participate in the program.
The Alliance provides lesson plans complemented by CDs, books, activities and energy audit kits. Teams of teachers, custodial staff, administrators and students at each participating school then carry out energy-saving projects that are designed on a school-by-school basis.
Download the program profile above to learn more about how the five participating schools in JCPB's service territory saved a gran total of $32,743 in energy costs in their first year of program implementation!
