Electric Power Sector Protocol
The Climate Registry is a nonprofit collaboration among North American states, provinces, territories and Native Sovereign Nations that sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry. In June 2009, the Climate Registry released a draft reporting protocol for the Electric Power Sector. The Electric Power Sector (EPS) Addendum to the General Verification Protocol (GVP) is designed as a supplement to the GVP, and is intended to be used in conjunction with the GVP for verification of inventories reported in accordance with the EPS Protocol. The Registry’s public comment period for the EPS Addendum to the GVP ended on September 25, 2009. The Registry is currently working internally to review the public comments and finalize the EPS Addendum.
