Author: Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL)
Published: September 13, 2010
This report offers research on the current energy efficiency services workforce and analyzes if there are enough adequately trained people to design, manage and install the efficiency measures needed to meet goals that have been adopted by state and federal governments.
This report found that employers have a hard time finding qualified individuals to fill any position that is not entry level in the EE industry. There are a shortage of manage-level applicants and a shortage of energy efficiency engineers. Retirement and keeping up with expected growth is also projected to be a challenge for the building and construction industry.
