Getting Towns & Cities to Make the Change
There are no longer any valid excuses for not making the change to energy efficient lighting.
One of the main obstacles in getting municipalities to make the change to energy efficient lighting has been the cost. There is no disputing the cost of LED lighting is more expensive to purchase then standard HPS lighting. There is also no arguing the large cost savings both in maintenance and energy consumption when LED is used properly. Most towns have been taking the route of applying for stimulus or grant money. There is now no need for this practice. Companies like Kardings offer full "Lease to Own" packages. There is no money down, no grant money needed. In fact Kardings will subsidize the saving by issuing a check to the municipality to cover the installation period. So in fact a town or city can fully retrofit to LED , no money out of pocket and also receive a check upon contract signing. The lighting fixtures are proven and currently being used here in the USA and abroad. With full warranties of five plus years. I fail to see any reason whatsoever why a town cannot make the change now. If we as a nation can mandate these changes and get a good portion of cities and towns to make the change to energy efficient lighting we will actually make a difference. I would like community members and elected officials to look at the Kardings offer. If this company stands behind each light fixture, the financial platform is painless for municipalities and the installation is uncomplicated with plug and play technology , then please bring up a negative point? This seems to be a win win for all involved. The Federal money allocated for Grants and Stimulus can obviously be used for other uses.
