Author: Institute for Electric Efficiency
Published: May 1, 2009
The Institute for Electric Efficiency developed this whitepaper to help utilities just starting out to identify quick start, quick return energy efficiency programs. The program selections are based on the experiences of utilities that have long track records administering energy efficiency programs. When launching a new EE portfolio, EEI suggest two key criteria: 1) focus on areas of high energy use and 2) focus on programs that can be implemented quickly.
The nine recommended program areas include:
Residential Programs:
- Efficient Appliances
- Appliance Recycling
- Peak Load Reduction
- Efficient Lighting
- Consumer Electronics and Plug Load
Commercial/ Industrial Programs:
- Efficient Lighting
- Efficient HVAC
- Industrial Motors
- Industrial Custom
