States Stepping Forward: Best Practices for State-Led Energy Efficiency Programs

The American Council for an Energy-Efficiency Economy (ACEEE) presents its first-ever awards project for exceptional state-led energy efficiency projects. This report highlights many leading states that have been running energy efficiency programs for decades, as well as programs recently developed with new sources of funding.

Nominations were accepted from programs administered by state institutions and an expert field evaluated the nominations. The panel choose five award winners, ten honorable mentions and three emerging programs.

Information on each of these recognized programs is included in this paper along with information on evaluation criteria used to judge the programs.
